Developed for the exclusive collaboration with the cult British brand Aries, Zed was conceived as a genderless silhouette that mixes diverse conceptual references, from high-tech sportswear to sleek aesthetics of contemporary design. This approach encapsulates Aries’ disruptive and multi-faceted visual language. With its bold streamlined design, this eyewear piece features a single high-grade shield lens mounted in a thick acetate structure, the technical flex hinges allow extra comfort for the design’s wide temples.
The final touch was given by Aries, who customized the piece with its signature broken Roman column, creating two gold metal decors for the temples and a central graphic on the frame’s prominent shield. This version comes in a medium tortoise havana acetate paired with a tinted brown lens.
Sunglasses and prescription glasses come in different sizes, suitable for a wide variety of face shapes. If you look at the temples (arms) of a pair of glasses you own, you will probably notice two or three numbers.
The first number (usually between 48 and 58) is the lens width in millimeters. The higher the number, the wider the lens.
The second number (between 15 and 25) represents the distance between the two lenses (bridge width).
The last number (between 135 and 150) indicates the length of the temples. If you have ever worn glasses that don’t sit well on your ears, you should consider a temple length of at least 145 mm.
